Thoughts on Facebook

Do you still remember Friendster? How about MySpace? Were you in those social networking sites too? I was. After many years of social networking using Facebook, I can honestly say I like Friendster more than Facebook. In Friendster, you get to network with friends but you get the option of leaving a testimonial about your friend in his wall. I actually liked that because I get to say good things about someone without becoming awkward at all. It was definitely more personal. Facebook started out with application and game sharing but as the years go by, I find Facebook more as a marketing tool rather than a personal page. With the countless people who “likes” your page and “unliking” it later, it is really a tool than a personal home page.

Nowadays, I find myself hanging out in Twitter more than I do in Facebook, the only reason that I check out Facebook is because more people are in Facebook (like relatives). I also use it to market my blogs and share some interesting and inspirational stuff with people.
